n Wednesday, sources reported that three Afghan journalists were injured by gunfire from Pakistani soldiers in Torkham. The journalists had traveled to the border area to cover the ongoing clashes between the Taliban forces and the Pakistani military.

According to sources, the injured journalists are Azizullah Hassani, a reporter for Radio Hooriyat; Wali Mohammad Shinwari, a reporter for Pajhwok News; and Hidayatullah, a reporter for Shamshad TV. They were hit by mortar shells fired by Pakistani soldiers. The incident occurred as they were covering the border conflict in Torkham.

Taliban officials in Nangarhar confirmed the injuries, stating that a reporter from Pajhwok News and another journalist from Radio Hooriyat were also wounded in the attack. The journalists were quickly transferred to a hospital for treatment.

On the same day, fighting erupted again between the Pakistani military and Taliban forces in Torkham. Social media images from the scene showed both sides using heavy weapons to target each other’s positions. Details about potential casualties from this clash remain unclear.

The ongoing clashes between the Pakistani military and Taliban forces at the Torkham border continue to escalate, with reports of media personnel caught in the crossfire. The situation remains tense, with journalists continuing to cover the volatile conflict in the region.

On March 3, clashes erupted between Taliban forces and Pakistani soldiers at the Torkham border crossing, resulting in the death of one Taliban fighter and injuries to several others, including Pakistani personnel.

The confrontation began on the first working day of Ramadan, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan due to blocked food imports. The Torkham crossing has been closed since February 21 over a dispute regarding the construction of a new border post by Afghanistan, leaving approximately 5,000 trucks carrying essential goods stranded and causing significant trade disruptions.
