The Irish Cricket Board announced that the country’s matches with the Afghanistan national cricket team have been canceled due to financial problems.
The national teams of the two countries were scheduled to compete in one Test match, three ODI matches and three Twenty-over matches, but the Irish Cricket Board on Tuesday, March 11, announced the schedule for its upcoming matches.
Cricket Board Ireland chief executive Warren Deuterme, said the decision was made due to financial challenges and financial management.
Afghanistan Cricket Board has not reacted to this so far.
Afghanistan and Ireland, who received full memberships of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2017, have so far faced two test matches, with each team earning one win.
