2 Civilians Killed, 25 Injured in Pakistani Military Attacks

Afghanistan has reported that over the past 24 hours, Pakistani military forces carried out a series of attacks across multiple مناطق in Paktika, Kunar, and Khost provinces. These assaults resulted in the deaths of two civilians and left at least 25 others injured, the majority of whom were children.

Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Pakistani forces launched continuous mortar, missile, and drone strikes targeting civilian-populated areas in the affected provinces. He emphasized that women and children were among those harmed in the attacks.

According to Fetrat, heavy shelling struck several مناطق in Kunar province, particularly within Sarkano and Manwara districts. A total of 155 mortar rounds and long-range artillery shells reportedly hit these areas, injuring at least two children and destroying a civilian vehicle.

In the Dosarkay area of Navapas, located in Sarkano district, dozens of additional artillery and mortar shells landed, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to eight children.

Elsewhere, in Shkin district of Paktika province, a drone strike reportedly injured three civilians. Fetrat also noted that on Thursday alone, 185 long-range artillery shells were fired into different parts of Sarkano district in Kunar, injuring ten more civilians.

In Khost province, specifically in the Zazai Maidan district, another drone strike targeted the Jando Ghar area, where two children were reported injured.

Afghan officials have condemned the attacks, highlighting the significant toll on civilians, particularly children, and calling attention to the ongoing humanitarian impact of cross-border military operations.
