Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood icon Dharmendra has been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and will continue his medical treatment at home, according to an official statement from his son Sunny Deol’s team. The 88-year-old actor was hospitalized last week and had been on ventilator support for a brief period.

The news brings relief to fans and the film fraternity after a period of concern for the beloved actor’s health. The official statement aimed to quell speculation and request privacy for the family.

“We are happy to share that Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home,” the statement from Sunny Deol’s team read. “He is in stable condition, and his family is closely monitoring his health. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.”

The statement concluded with a heartfelt note of gratitude and a personal touch, echoing the actor’s own affinity for his fans: “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

“Respected Mr. Dharmendra Deol ji has been discharged from the Breach Candy Hospital this morning at 7.30 am, and his treatment and management with recovery will continue at home,” Dr. Samdani stated.

The actor was initially admitted to the hospital after experiencing breathlessness. His condition had prompted an outpouring of support from across the industry.

During his hospitalization, Dharmendra was surrounded by the support of his immediate family. His wife, Hema Malini, and his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, were frequent visitors at the hospital.
