The National Day of Uzbek Language

Today (Tuesday, May 29), is the National Day of Uzbek Language. This day is commemorated every year in Afghanistan and outside the country by its speakers.

This year, the national day of Uzbek language was celebrated a few days ago in Kabul and a number of other provinces and abroad.

A number of cultural people, professors of academics and youth, on Friday, May 25, in a program called “Place of Uzbek language in Afghanistan” in Kabul, celebrated this great day.

Mohammad Hassan Sardash, one of the organizers of the program, emphasizing the importance of the Uzbek language, asked the Islamic Emirate to add curriculum in the third language, especially Uzbek, to the high school period.

A number of cultural activists also said in the program that scientific and research centers are needed for the growth of local languages, especially Uzbekistan.

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the former president of Afghanistan, in an order in 1398 solar calendar, named 29 May in the Afghan calendar as the National Day of Uzbek Language, after which, every year, this day will be celebrated by holding special programs.
