580 passenger car overturned in Salang; 6 killed and dozens injured

Salang once again witnessed a bitter and painful scene. Due to a severe storm and driver’s carelessness, a Type 580 passenger car veered off the main route and became fatally overturned; an event that has so far claimed the lives of six of our compatriots and injured dozens more.

The injured were transferred to the nearest health centers by the field personnel and rescue teams with different conditions. Rescue operations are still ongoing and efforts are underway to reopen Salang Highway to passengers.

The tragedy has left many families in grief and once again highlighted concerns over road conditions and non-compliance of safety rules on mountain trails.
