Ceasefire agreement in Gaza

The Gaza Ministry of Health has announced that at least 10 Palestinians have been killed and 49 others have been injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. Also, a body has been recovered from the rubble of previous Israeli attacks.

US President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed on the “first stage” of a ceasefire plan in Gaza. Qatar, which is a key mediator in ceasefire talks, has confirmed the progress and said that it had been agreed on “all interests and executive mechanisms” of the first phase of the ceasefire plan.

Hamas said in a public statement that “it has reached an agreement that will set for the end of the war in Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupying forces, the arrival of aid and the exchange of prisoners.” »

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will form his government on Thursday, October 9, to pass a Gaza ceasefire deal, adding in a statement: “This is a great day for Israel.” »

Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in the deaths of at least 67,000 and 194 people and injuring 169,000 and 890 people. Thousands of others are said to have also been buried beneath the rubble of vandalized buildings.
