Deadly Clashes in KP: 12 Pakistani Soldiers Killed

At least 12 Pakistani soldiers were killed in fierce clashes with militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, local media reported on Saturday.

According to Dawn, which cited the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incidents took place in the volatile districts of North Waziristan and Bajaur, where security forces came under heavy fire from armed groups.

The military’s media wing stated that during the exchange of fire, at least 35 militants were killed. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also reportedly recovered from the insurgents’ hideouts.

The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces remain determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism and “such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”

Both Waziristan and Bajaur, which border Afghanistan, have witnessed frequent militant activity in recent years. Authorities blame groups linked to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for cross-border infiltration and attacks on security forces.

Observers note that the latest clashes come amid a surge in militant violence across the province, raising concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the tribal belt.
