Pakistani media reports that eight soldiers have been killed and 11 others wounded in a coordinated militant assault on security posts in Balochistan’s Panjgur district.
According to local media, the attack occurred on Sunday, August 3, when a group of armed militants simultaneously targeted three security posts in the Panjgur district of Balochistan province.
Security sources confirmed that, in addition to the casualties, three Pakistani soldiers are missing, and search operations are currently underway to locate them.
Following the attack, security forces launched a large-scale operation in the area to pursue the assailants. However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the assault, and officials have not provided further details on the perpetrators.
Balochistan has long been one of Pakistan’s most volatile regions, plagued by ongoing violence from militant and separatist groups, including Baloch nationalist insurgents. These groups have repeatedly targeted state forces and infrastructure in recent years.
Despite government pledges to restore stability, attacks on military and police personnel continue with alarming frequency across the province.
