KABUL: Afghanistan’s national Wushu team has returned home triumphantly from China after winning three medals—one gold, one silver, and one bronze—at the 12th Asian Youth and Junior Wushu Championship.
The prestigious event, organized by the Asian Wushu Confederation, took place from July 23 to July 30, drawing competitors from across the continent.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, the Afghan delegation consisted of six athletes and two technical staff members, with support provided by the General Directorate of Olympic Affairs, Physical Education, and Sports.
Afghan athletes participated in both Taolu (form demonstration) and Sanda (full-contact combat) categories. Their efforts were rewarded with:
