Afghanistan Futsal Squad Sets Sights on Asian Cup with Preparatory Camp in Kuwait

Kabul, Afghanistan – In a strategic move to elevate the national team’s competitive readiness, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has confirmed that the Afghan Men’s Futsal Team will conduct an intensive overseas training camp in Kuwait from December 18 to 23, 2025.

The camp, organized in close coordination with the Kuwait Football Association and overseen by Afghanistan’s technical and management staff, forms a critical part of the squad’s preparation roadmap for the upcoming 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup.

“This camp is a vital step in our preparation cycle,” said an AFF spokesperson. “High-level international exposure is essential for our players, and we are grateful to the Kuwait Football Association for their collaboration and hospitality in facilitating this opportunity.”

Camp Agenda: Training and High-Stakes Friendlies

The five-day schedule is designed to maximize tactical development and team cohesion. The centerpiece of the camp will be two official friendly matches against the Kuwait National Futsal Team, providing a rigorous test for both sides. The matches are scheduled for:

  • Saturday, December 20, 2025

  • Monday, December 22, 2025

These contests will offer the Afghan squad valuable experience against a familiar regional opponent, allowing the coaching staff to assess player form, refine strategies, and build match fitness under pressure.

Road to Indonesia 2026

The 2026 AFC Men’s Futsal Asian Cup, hosted by Indonesia from January 27 to February 7, represents a significant goal for the team. The tournament, which will feature 16 of the continent’s top nations, also serves as the qualification route for the 2026 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.

The AFF has indicated that the Kuwait camp is the first in a series of planned preparatory activities. “Additional training camps and international friendlies are being finalized to ensure our team arrives in Indonesia at its peak competitive level,” the federation added.

This initiative underscores the AFF’s commitment to developing futsal in Afghanistan and providing the national team with the resources needed to compete successfully on the continental stage.
