Amo Team Crowned Champions Once Again

The Amo Sharks successfully defended their championship title and won the 10th edition of the Etisalat Shpageeza Cricket League.

Led by Azmatullah Omarzai, the Amo Sharks faced the Mis Ainak Knights in today’s final match of the 10th Shpageeza League, captained by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The Amo team secured a convincing victory by 8 wickets.

The Amo Sharks won the toss and chose to bowl first. Their decision proved effective as they delivered an excellent bowling performance, dismissing the Mis Ainak Knights for just 121 runs.

For the Knights, Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored with 48 runs. However, Azmatullah Omarzai starred with the ball for the Amo Sharks, taking 4 wickets. Abdullah Ahmadzai also impressed, claiming 3 wickets for just 21 runs.

In response, the Amo Sharks chased down the target of 122 runs in the 13th over, thanks to a brilliant half-century by the young talent Hasan Isa Khel.

It is worth noting that all matches of this year’s Shpageeza League were held at the Kabul Cricket Stadium.

The Shpageeza Cricket League enjoys a large following both inside Afghanistan and among the Afghan diaspora. The tournament features many of the country’s top national players and is held annually.

This championship comes at a time when numerous other cricket tournaments have also been held across various provinces of Afghanistan this year, attracting significant public attention.
