In another significant achievement for Afghan cricket, star all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai has surged to claim the number-one position in the ICC’s ODI all-rounder rankings.

According to the latest rankings update from the International Cricket Council, Rashid Khan now leads the bowling chart for 2025 with 710 rating points. This marks a powerful comeback for the spinner, who also closed out 2024 as the world’s leading ODI bowler. He is closely followed by England’s pace spearhead Jofra Archer in second place, with India’s left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav securing the third position.

The all-rounders’ rankings tell a story of Afghan dominance, with Azmatullah Omarzai occupying the top spot.
