Campaigning against humanitarian aid is injustice

Unfortunately, some people have launched a campaign this winter under the cover of “blankets,” calling for humanitarian aid to Afghanistan to be stopped on the grounds that the Taliban benefit from it.
A large portion of Afghanistan’s population survives on humanitarian assistance, and the people should not become victims of the wrong policies of either the Taliban or the international community.
The campaign should instead focus on creating mechanisms to ensure that aid reaches the people and is not exploited by senior Taliban officials.
Stopping aid to the people is injustice. Under no circumstances should humanitarian assistance to the population be cut off. Halting aid to the people is an act against human, moral, Afghan, and universal humanitarian values, no matter who does it.
Cutting aid has no negative impact on the lives of senior Taliban officials. According to available information, they themselves claim that they can continue exploiting the nation for another ten years and still run the government.
Unfortunately, some of those involved in this campaign are individuals who have evacuated all their relatives—even as far as their chickens—out of the country under the labels of women’s rights activists, media workers, and others. They have no close relatives or loved ones left inside Afghanistan and, like the Taliban, they do not care about the people.
Even if someone has no relatives, Afghans should not be made victims of political or self-serving campaigns of any kind, because the goal of any struggle must be the welfare and peace of the Afghan people.
