The Taliban Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced a public holiday on the occasion of 28th of Assad, the day of returning the country’s independence.
The ministry said on Sunday, August 26, in an announcement that on Tuesday, August 28, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the country’s restoration of independence from Britain, there will be a public holiday throughout the country.
The Taliban had also declared 24 Assad, the day of their regain control of Afghanistan, a public holiday, although this day coincided with Friday.
This comes while the group has cancelled more occasions designated as holidays in the previous government.
