KABUL, Afghanistan – In a significant movement for Afghan sports, a delegation from the National Taekwondo Federation has departed for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to compete on an international stage. The announcement was confirmed by the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (NOC) in a statement released on Wednesday.
The eight-member contingent is set to participate in the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, a major multi-sport event that brings together athletes from the 57 member nations of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to foster unity and sportsmanship.
