UAE Deploys Rescue Teams and Humanitarian Aid to Earthquake-Stricken Afghanistan

The United Arab Emirates has dispatched rescue teams, medical experts, and emergency supplies to Afghanistan’s earthquake-stricken eastern provinces, providing urgent humanitarian assistance to families affected by the disaster.

According to Emirati media reports on Tuesday, the mission includes search-and-rescue personnel, specialists from the UAE Joint Operations Command, and emergency response experts equipped with advanced rescue tools for evacuating the injured and conducting life-saving operations in devastated areas.

Alongside personnel, the UAE delivered essential relief items, including food, medicine, blankets, and first aid kits, to help families who lost their homes and livelihoods in the disaster. Authorities emphasized that additional shipments and ongoing support will continue in the coming days.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences to the Afghan people and reaffirmed its commitment to providing humanitarian aid during crises. The assistance highlights the importance of regional solidarity, particularly as Afghanistan’s domestic resources remain limited amid the destruction.

The earthquake caused widespread devastation across Kunar and neighboring provinces, leaving hundreds of families in urgent need of shelter, clean water, and medical care. Blocked roads, landslides, and damaged infrastructure have hindered relief operations, making international support critical to bridging the gap in emergency response.

This deployment from the UAE underscores the role of international cooperation in mitigating the human impact of natural disasters. As aftershocks continue, experts stress that sustained, coordinated aid will be essential to prevent further humanitarian suffering and support long-term recovery in the affected regions.
