Central Bank Withdraws 15 Billion Afghanis of Worn-Out Banknotes from Circulation

The Central Bank of Afghanistan has announced that in the past four years, 15 billion Afghani have removed Manders banknotes from circulation in the market.

Hasibullah Noori, the spokesman of the Central Bank, today (Saturday, May 12) in a video message asked the citizens to pay attention to holding banknotes so that they do not reach them before the scheduled time.

Nouri added that the development of digital banking is one of the main priorities of the central bank and asked people to work with the bank to expand digital banking services by receiving electronic cards.

According to the Central Bank, using debit cards is one of the most effective ways to prevent banknotes from becoming bankrupt; a way that increased money saving will also make new banking facilities available to citizens.
