Ariana Television Network (ATN) has secured the exclusive rights to broadcast Afghanistan’s highly anticipated cricket tour of India, bringing live coverage of both the historic one-off Test match and the three-match ODI series to millions of viewers across Afghanistan and beyond.

The tour will begin on June 6 with a one-off Test match in New Chandigarh, before the teams face off in a three-match ODI series scheduled between June 13 and June 20 in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai.

The acquisition marks another major milestone for ATN as the network continues to expand its sports broadcasting portfolio and strengthen its long-standing support for Afghan athletes, national teams and international sporting events.

Over the past several years, ATN has established itself as one of Afghanistan’s leading sports broadcasters through extensive coverage of global tournaments, bilateral cricket series and major franchise competitions, including the Indian Premier League. The network’s growing investment in sports media has played a significant role in increasing access to live international cricket for Afghan audiences, where the sport continues to enjoy immense popularity.

The upcoming series also carries historic significance for Afghan cricket. Afghanistan and India will meet in only their second-ever Test match. Their first encounter took place in Bengaluru in 2018, when India claimed victory by an innings and 262 runs. Since then, however, Afghanistan has made notable progress in the longer format of the game, recording four Test victories in its relatively short Test history and continuing to build a competitive red-ball squad.

Afghanistan’s preparations for the tour have drawn considerable attention, particularly regarding the fitness of key players. Star all-rounder Rashid Khan previously revealed that medical staff had advised him to reduce his red-ball workload, while opening batter Ibrahim Zadran is currently recovering from a leg injury. Both players are nevertheless expected to return for the ODI series.

The Afghan Test squad includes maiden call-ups for Nangyal Kharotai, Bilal Sami and Rahmanullah Zadran, highlighting the selectors’ focus on developing emerging talent. Spinner Qais Ahmad also returns to the national side.

India, meanwhile, has named several new faces as part of its transition planning ahead of the 2027 Cricket World Cup. The hosts have handed maiden Test call-ups to left-arm spinners Manav Suthar and Harsh Dubey, along with fast bowler Gurnoor Brar. The ODI squad also features promising pace prospect Prince Yadav, who impressed during IPL 2026 performances.

Senior Indian stars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are expected to return for the ODI matches, subject to fitness clearance, adding further excitement to the series.

ATN’s continued commitment to sports broadcasting has helped connect Afghan fans with some of the biggest moments in international cricket while consistently highlighting Afghan sporting achievements on the global stage. Through comprehensive coverage of national team campaigns and international competitions, the network has become an important platform for promoting Afghan sport and uniting fans across the country.

Cricket supporters are encouraged to follow Ariana Television and Ariana News across social media platforms for the latest updates on match schedules, broadcast timings and exclusive tournament coverage.
